Living Places :)
Hey guys! Welcome to another post of mine.
Today I want to talk about my living arrangements throughout my life, and how interesting and fun they've been!
In New York City, I lived in an old, beautiful appartment building with 14 floors. Back when my parents were young and wide eyed, they were renting out appartment 6A. Then they had me, and moved into 13A, where they could own the place!
I loved 13A, and our building. We had the nicest neighbors and friends, and sometimes I would make fresh bread with my dad, and we'd sell it in the building.
Unfortunately, we didn't have any yard or whatever, but we did have a small courtyard where the building would have cozy little celebrations past dark, or board meetings. My brothers, who are both sports fanatics went to the playgrounds and parks nearby, where there were basketball hoops and such. I would tag along most of the time to meet up with a friend or to get ice cream.
I'm serious when I say: New York was the best. We had the best view ever (being on the 13th floor and all), and there is so much history that we have there!
During the crazy pandemic around 2020/2021, me and my family went to Montreal, which is where my dad's side of the family lives, and basically got stuck there. But we weren't complaining!! We were doing school online, and we'd have Zoom calls every day for a little while, and in our free time, we'd go sledding because it was winter time and there was a big park with a hill right near the DND house we were living in.
We would go to my aunt, uncle and cousins' house every day for dinner, and my grandparents would come over, too and we'd close all the curtains so no one saw us not-social-distancing.
It was a good time, and we ended up staying in Montreal for more than 6 months! I got really homesick after a while, but looking back, I'd have stayed forever! Montreal is awesome, and French is my dream language to learn (my whole family on my dad's side including my dad can speak French fluently), plus I love hanging out with my family!
We returned to New York, and continued living our lives, and two years later we came here, to big, wonderful Ethiopia. We finally have a ginormous front and back yard, and it's super cool! I miss New York more than anything, though! It's so hard to let go of, especially when you've lived there your whole life!
Anyway, I hope this entry wasn't too long for you! I'm gonna include lots of pictures to make up for it!
