So let's talk about MUSIC

Hey! So today I wanted to talk about my lovely journey through music! 🎵

I have always loved music, pretty much since I was born.

I remember when I was 3-6 or something like that, I would put on my rainbow fairy wings and gather my family in the living room to sing for them. I would ask, 'Should I sing about a house, butterflies, a hill or a rainbow?' and I'd make up little stories while singing.

I mostly just listened to the songs my parents would play around the house when I was young, but then, when I was 6/7 I would go to my best friend, Imani's house sometimes and we'd play music on their family computer and dance and sing.

My favorite artists at that time were Meghan Trainor, Selena Gomez and Shawn Mendes. I would listen to their songs on repeat over and over again.

Then, I stopped listening to music as much and just had a big gap. During the summer before 5th grade, I believe, I started listening to music again, and started loving Camila Cabello and Olivia Rodrigo. I made a playlist on Spotify and listened and listened. During the beginning of 5th grade, I remember realizing how much everyone was loving this one singer, Billie Eilish.

Even my mom started listening to her songs in the kitchen, or in her bedroom, and I just thought Billie Eilish was really creepy. Her songs sounded eerie and weird and unsettling. I don't know why, but I just had something against her music.

I remember this one conversation I had with one of my friends, Stella. We were talking about music, and what singers we liked. She loves Billie's music, as well as Olivia Rodrigo's. I asked, "Who do you like more, Billie Eilish or Olivia Rodrigo?" I wanted her to say Olivia, because Billie just seemed like she was... possessing everyone.

But she said, "Billie Eilish, duhh!" Another friend of ours, Maddison joined in:

"Yeah, Olivia Rodrigo is great, but Billie is the queen!"

I was annoyed.

After a while, I don't know what happened but something in my brain clicked. I started listening to some of Billie Eilish's songs, and liked them! Then, I loved them. I was obsessed- maybe too obsessed. I looked up her pictures, her songs, her concerts... I. Was. In. Love!!

I listened to her music when I was sad, happy, mad etc. I made a playlist with Billie and Olivia and some other random songs I liked, and was very happy.

Eventually I updated it, and I'm proud to say that it is officially over 14 hours of pure JOY! They're is pop, hip hop, Afro beats, ukulele songs, (I even started playing ukulele and I looove it!!) and even a sprinkle of ragae!

Let's just say I do not like putting hours of my life into making separate playlists for different 'moods', so my favorite songs are all just clumped together in one big puddle of sound.

I love music, I stan Billie, and I am obsessed with Spotify!! ♡

Thanks for reading yet another long entry!! Until next time!
